Friend Walk Fridays

Friend Walk Fridays

Location: Pasley Park picnic shelter

Grab a friend, or join us to meet a new friend. We will walk on Friday mornings beginning at Pasley Park picnic shelter. We will walk for 45 minutes and then have a small discussion on nutrition and other helpful, healthful information. Registration required.

Friend Walk Fridays is a  free event. Registration closes 5 business days in advance.

The Dakota Smiles Mobile Dental Program is designed to assist children ages 0-21 who do not have access to dental care. No child will be turned away for inability to pay for services.

Dakota Smiles includes two trucks that are fully equipped dental offices on wheels. Services provided include: diagnostic and preventive procedures, restorative procedures and tooth extractions.

In the past 3 years at First Lutheran Church alone, this program has been able to provide dental services to more than 115 children and has provided over $60,000 in diagnostic, preventative and restorative services to the underserved children in the community.

Step Forward to Prevent Suicide Walk

Step Forward to Prevent Suicide Walk

Location: 900 N Phillips Ave.

Our community and state continue to experience the loss of our family and friends to suicide. We can all help by stepping forward to make a difference. There is help and hope through raising awareness about suicide and funding prevention programs. Step Forward offers a 1.5 mile walk, 5K fun run and remembrance ceremony. The event raises awareness and support for the Helpline Center’s local suicide prevention services and survivor support programs. 100% of the proceeds stay local.

Daddy and Me Sports Camp

Come learn and play sports with your dad or other male guardian. This class will focus on drills and games you play and practice with your kids. We will be playing basketball, soccer, and tee-ball.

Kayaking Clinic

In this class, we teach paddling techniques, entry and exit, proper use and selection of safety gear, and basic rescue skills, as well as the basics of caring for kayaks. Plan to get wet! This class is great for beginner or intermediate paddlers who wish to learn more about their craft. Join instructors from S.D. Canoe and Kayak Association as they share their craft. Nyberg's Ace will provide the kayaks for the clinic.

The beef is delivered by Ollerich Farms in Elkton, SD, and the new approach focuses on traceability for each cut of the natural, 21-day aged meat. Knowing where the animal was raised, how it was treated and an opportunity for direct feedback to Ollerich Farms makes Family Time Celebration very special.

Are you new to tee-ball, or looking for some extra practice? Come to this introductory class on tee-ball, where you one can learn to play the sport or practice the skills that you already have. We will be practicing throwing, hitting, and fielding. If your child has a glove, please bring it, but it's not required.
