Better Choices, Better Health® Workshop

Better Choices, Better Health® is a chronic disease self-management workshop designed for adults living with any chronic conditions.
This workshop will be presented on six consecutive Thursdays, from April 5 through May 10, with each session lasting 2 1/2 hours.
Workshop topics include:
- Managing pain, fatigue and stress
- Tips for healthy eating
- Personal exercise plans
- Relaxation techniques
- Medication how-to's
- Dealing with emotions
- Working better with your doctor and care team

This circuit style class keeps you moving and wokring by providing challenging stregth training, core conditioning, and calorie burning cardio stations. Getting fit is fun and flies by as you power through a variety of exercise stations. Be prepared to break a sweat and get stronger! Please bring a water bottle and a mat.
The cost of Stations of Strength is $20 for the series.

Adult Flag Football Tournament

Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation is proud to introduce a one-day Flag Football Tournament! Teams will compete in seeding play followed by a single elimination tournament in a call-your-own format.

Bike MS: Sioux Falls Ride 2017
Saturday, August 5, 2017 (all day)
Location: 8th and Railroad Center
Bike MS: Sioux Falls Ride is a must-do for any South Dakota cyclist!
More than 200 riders will pick their own challenge, biking 20, 61 or 100 miles though southeastern South Dakota for one cause: A world free of MS.

Youth Triathlon Training Days

Location: Kuehn Park and Pool
If you are planning on competing in the Youth Triathlon, or just want to learn what it’s all about, check out our training class. You can practice your swimming, biking, and running skills while getting tips on how to improve. The three-day, one-hour sessions run August 8th, 9th, and 10th, and the cost is $20 per person.
- Kids ages 6-9will come to camp from 10-11 a.m.
- Kids ages 10-18 will come to camp from 11 a.m.-12 Noon.
Snowfox Swim Team, Avera Sports Institute Tri Group, and Two Wheeler Dealer will be on site to assist with training. Bring your swimsuit, towel, bike, helmet, and running shoes each day. Two Wheeler Dealer will be at the training to help with free basic bike fits and bike safety checks.
- Tuesday’s class will focus on swimming and practice on transitioning to bike.
- Wednesday’s class will focus on bike etiquette, riding the bike route, and transitioning to the run.
- Thursday’s class will focus on transitioning from the bike and running the race route.

Food a Fawick Park

Furry 5K
Saturday, August 26, 2017 9:00am - 3:00pm
Location: Riverdale Park
Dogs that are exercised regularly are less likely to develop and exhibit those pesky behavior problems such as digging, barking, and chewing. Help your pooch get the exercise they need by partaking in the 5K fun run or walk on National Dog Day! Participants and their furry companions will follow a 5K route along the beautiful bike trail. Dogs must be kept on a leash. First 25 people to register will receive a free T-shirt. Don't have a dog? Come enjoy the walk or run anyway! Race starts at 9 am.
