Better Choices, Better Health® is a chronic disease self-management workshop designed for adults living with any chronic conditions.
This workshop will be presented on six consecutive Thursdays, from April 5 through May 10, with each session lasting 2 1/2 hours.
Workshop topics include:
- Managing pain, fatigue and stress
- Tips for healthy eating
- Personal exercise plans
- Relaxation techniques
- Medication how-to's
- Dealing with emotions
- Working better with your doctor and care team

Beginner to intermediate exercisers wanted! Leave workout intimidation at the door, because this class is going to teach you the fundamentals of exercise and making healthier choices. Together we will get a total body workout by incorporating cardio, strength and core moves.

KEEP Healthy: Free Kidney Health Check
Monday, November 13, 2017 4:00pm - 8:00pm
Location: Celebrate Community Church, 1000 S. Sycamore Avenue
Did you know that 26 million Americans have kidney disease, and many don't event know it?
Risk factors for kidney disease include diabetes and high blood pressure. Come to this FREE screening event from the National Kidney Foundation, with support from Avera Health and Sanford Health. You must be 18 years of age or older to participate.
You will take a risk factor survey and receive:
- blood pressure check
- body mass index (BMI) measurement
- an opportunity to speak with a healthcare professional
- free educational materials
- ACR urine test for albumin (a type of protein) - only for individuals at risk of kidney disease

Fun and Fit Day

Location: Kuehn Community Center (March 16) Morningside Community Center (April 13)
Ride, run, jump, and jam! Join Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation and participate in fitness-related activities all while having fun! This event is geared toward children ages 2-6. Children must be supervised by an individual 16 years of age or older. A 5-to-1 ratio of children to adults must be observed. No Registration required. This is a FREE event.

Toddler Gym

These classes will introduce your child to basic movement skills and encourage them to work on hand/eye coordination and spatial awareness. Parachutes, balls and other fun activities will be used. The cost is $5 per class.

Winter Kickball Tournament

Location: Sherman Park, 2705 W. 12th Street
Join us for a weekend kickball tournament in the snow! A little cold weather won't ruin the fun. You'll feel like a big leaguer as this tournament will be played in prime time under the lights. T-shirts will be awarded to the top two finishing teams.
The cost is $25 per team (ages 18+), and the registration deadline is November 13 at 5pm.
