Zumba Fitness

Zumba is a high-energy dance workout with a party-like atmosphere that does not disappoint. Zumba is proven to produce a large calorie burn without ever feeling like you are working out. Many different styles of music and dance are utilized. All skill levels are welcome. Each class is different. No equipment required, besides tennis shoes, so grab a friend and come join us! Registration required. Ages 16+, $45 per series.

BANDS Workout Class

Location: Morningside Community Center, 2400 S. Bahnson Avenue
Temperatures are dropping outside, but things are heating up at Morningside Community Center with Netjfitness and this new group fitness class. BANDS is a 45 minute high intensity interval resistance band class for ages 14+.
Throughout the class a partnered instructor will focus on bringing the heart rate up to an aerobic rate while strengthening and toning all muscle groups. The benefits of having resistance band routines - while this is a high intense workout, the movements are easily modifiable for you to go at your own pace. So get excited! Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat. Registration required. $12 PER CLASS OR $80 PER SERIES

Elementary Snowshoe Stroll

Location: Sherman Park
Introduce your child (ages 6-9) to the lifelong activity of snowshoeing. Participants will have the opportunity to learn how snowshoes work, proper care, and then hit the trail for a morning of fun. $5 per child. Registration required in advance.

A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns about Falls

Join us for this FREE 8-week Falls Prevention program for older adults. Learn how to prevent falls and increase activity specific for balance, strength and flexibility. This program is free thanks to the support of the Betty & Gordon Moore Foundation.

You will learn to set goals for increasing activity, reduce fall risks at home, exercise to increase strength and balance, and know how to safety get up if you fall.
