Sweat Bootcamp with NETJFITNESS

Location: Kuehn Community Center, 2801 S. Valley View Road

This program is for ages 16+.

All of us need to be motivated and pushed to finish. Come get motivated to tackle those 2021 goals at Sweat Bootcamp. Sweat Bootcamp is an interval training class that mixes calisthenics and body weight exercises with cardio and strength training. To keep the body guessing, a new workout will be instructed every week. Through this high intensity workout, you can go at your own pace and each exercise is modifiable to all levels. Come join our all-inclusive SWEAT Community! Bring your own yoga mat. Registration required using Class ##450002. $12 PER CLASS OR $80 PER SERIES

Hike & Yoga (ages 18+)

Location: Great Bear Recreation Park

Take your yoga practice to the trails! Hike + Yoga is an hour and a half hiking and yoga experience created to help you connect with nature, community, and your inner self. We will carry our items with us as we adventure onto the trails to find a serene place to lay our mats. Come expecting a yoga flow for all levels in the midst of nature to complement our hiking experience. Trail is of moderate difficulty, so sturdy tennis shoes or boots are recommended. THINGS TO BRING: A backpack with water, sunscreen, bug spray, and a towel/ mat to practice on. Please plan to arrive 5 minutes early to check in, as we will head out on the trails promptly at 9 a.m. The cost is $15 per person Registration required using Class #470003

Sioux Falls Parks & Recreation is pleased to partner with Special Olympics South Dakota for Young Athletes-Strider Program. This program gives kids ages 2-6 years old the opportunity to get the feel for riding a bike with the comfort of their feet on the ground. Bikes will be provided. Helmets are required; please bring your own. 

This is a FREE program, but registration is required. Registration closes five business days in advance.

WERQ is the wildly addictive cardio dance class based on the hottest pop and hip-hop music. The workout is nonstop with repetitive athletic moves, and fresh dance steps so you get the best sweat. Each week, a couple of new routines are introduced, so you get to WERQ the routines you know and challenge yourself with ones you are learning. No dance experience necessary. Ready to WERQ? Appropriate for ages 2-6.

Ride, run, jump, and jam! Join Sioux Falls Parks & Recreation and participate in fitness-related activities, all while having fun! Children must be supervised by an individual 16 years of age or older. A 5-to-1 ratio of children to adults must be observed. No registration required.

Futsal for Families

Location: Kuehn Community Center, 2801 S. Valley View Road

This event is great for all ages! Futsal is a fast-paced version of soccer with a couple of twists. One of the major differences is that Futsal is played indoors. The game is played 5 vs.5 rather than a traditional 11 vs. 11 soccer match, giving everyone plenty of playing time to make a difference! Futsal also utilizes a special weighted indoor ball to ensure maximum control. Don’t have a team? No sweat; we will find a team for you to join, for this “pickup game” format. All levels are welcome. The program is free, but registration is required using Class #490001.

It's time to celebrate Earth!  Walking along the Vista Loop Trail at Good Earth State Park at Blood Run, visitors will learn ways to preserve our planet, as well as learn about local organizations that share the love of the Earth.  This one mile hike is ADA accessible.  The event is free to attend with a park entrance license required on vehicles entering the park.  Be sure to dress for the weather and wear good walking shoes. 

The park is open daily from 6 am till 9 pm., and this Self Guided Earth Day Hike event runs from April 14 – April 27.

It's time to celebrate Earth!  Walking along the Vista Loop Trail at Good Earth State Park at Blood Run, visitors will learn ways to preserve our planet, as well as learn about local organizations that share the love of the Earth.  This one mile hike is ADA accessible.  The event is free to attend with a park entrance license required on vehicles entering the park.  Be sure to dress for the weather and wear good walking shoes. 

The park is open daily from 6 am till 9 pm., and this Self Guided Earth Day Hike event runs from April 14 – April 27.

All of us need to be motivated and pushed to finish. Come get motivated to tackle those 2021 goals at Sweat Bootcamp. Sweat Bootcamp is an interval training class that mixes calisthenics and body weight exercises with cardio and strength training. To keep the body guessing, a new workout will be instructed every week. Through this high intensity workout, you can go at your own pace and each exercise is modifiable to all levels. DEFINE BEAT is a high energy, full body 45-minute workout combining elements of strength, length, and dance cardio for rhythm-driven fun. Learn easy to follow, upbeat choreography combined with mat work and new moves that produces real results to sculpt and detox your body. Challenge your body and mind for sustainable health, memory, and longevity that will keep you moving and grooving right out of the studio. Get ready to sweat, sculpt, and move to the BEAT.

Tennis shoes are required.  This is a free program, and there is no need to pre-register.

Join us for this FREE 8-week Falls Prevention program for older adults. Learn how to prevent falls and increase activity specific for balance, strength and flexibility.  This program is free thanks to the support of the Betty & Gordon Moore Foundation.
