Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL)

Location: MIDCO Aquatic Center

Age 65+

SAIL is a 12-week strength, balance, and fitness program designed for adults 65+. Participants improve balance and mobility, reduce their risk of falls, and improve their quality of life while having fun meeting new people. Experienced and skillfull instructors teach each class. Classes are tailored to older adults who are active and wish to maintain or increase their fitness level. Chairs will be available as needed. It is recommended to attend two classes per week. Please bring a bottle of water along to class. Registration Required.

Fourth of July Weekend Bike Decorating

Fourth of July Weekend Bike Decorating

Location: Van Eps Park

What better way to be involved with the Fourth of July celebrations then by having your very own decorated bike to ride in the parade! You bring the item, we will provide the decorations. No battery or motor-powered vehicles will be allowed. Then, if you would like to join us, we will meet on Tuesday July 4, and march in the Mayor's Fourth of July parade. We will even store your decorated item until the day of the event. Stick around after the parade for all the fun festivities at Falls Park. Registration is required for this event.

Independence Day Celebration Fun Run/Walk

Location: Fawick Park 200 South 2nd Avenue Sioux Falls, SD, 57104

Location: Along Phillips Avenue and Levitt at the Falls (Participants at Fawick Park)

Bring the entire family and start your day celebrating America, by joining us for the IDC fun run/walk.  Runners will begin at Fawick Park and follow the path along the Big Sioux River.  Turnaround points will be noted along the route.

7:30a.m - Fun Run/Walk Check-In for Registered. Participants at Fawick Park

8:00a.m - Fun Run/Walk begins with Fawick Park

10:00a.m - Parade beings, northbound along Phillips Avenue beginning at 13th Street to 6th Street

11:00a.m - Lunch is served for the first 3,000 attendees, south side of Levitt Shell Entertaimnet at Levitt Shell

Summer Senior Recreation Trail Tours

Summer Senior Recreation Trail Tours

Location: Pasley Park

This experience is for those who are not able to explore our beautiful bike trail system on their own. Round-trip golf cart tours will allow you to experience stunning views of the river, parks, and wildlife. Participants must be able to transfer onto and of of the golf carts independently. Preregister online for these limited space tours at siouxfalls.org/parks using class ID #416000. Snacks and water provided!

Come and experience the beauty of McKennan Park while your kids have some fun also. Who would want to miss the fun of these events? Your family can enjoy a park full of old-time carnival games, inflatables, and summer fun. Bring your kids or "kid-like spirit". Kids' Night in the Park is free.

Activities include:
