Move Well

When we move, we can improve our health and reduce our risk for disease.

Did you know there are actually physical activity guidelines for Americans?  Unfortunately, most adults and young people do not meet the recommended levels of physical activity.

People who are not active are twice as likely to develop heart disease, are more likely to be overweight or obese, and are more likely to have high blood pressure.

We understand that it can be a challenge to be physically active. People are busy with work, family, or other activities. They may not have access to convenient facilities or a safe environment where they can be active. Or, they may have other health conditions that make it more difficult to be active.

That is why Live Well Sioux Falls and our community partners are working to build a healthy environment for physical activity.

We want to ensure that kids can walk to school, that bicyclists can ride safely through the city, that families have opportunities to be active together and that businesses encourage employees to move during the work day.

Move Well, Sioux Falls!
