Hooked on Fishing

Location: Family Park, 300 North Ellis Road, near West 12th Street on the Tea/Ellis Road
Fishing is a great way to relieve stress while spending time outdoors. Bring the entire family to Family Park for a fun-filled evening of fishing. Sioux Falls Parks & Recreation will provide all of the necessary equipment. A valid South Dakota fishing license is required for ages 16 and up. Registration required, and the cost is $5 per teen and $8 per adult.

Composting 101

Location: MariCar Community Center, 400 North Valley View Road
Come learn how to turn food scraps into gold for your garden. Composting is a great way to improve soil health in a flower bed or garden. From teaching you what you can compost to how to create a compost bin, a Master Gardener will teach you the ins and outs of composting. By the end of the session, participants will have the knowledge and skills necessary to start their own composting bin.

Walk MS 2017

Ending multiple sclerosis for good will take all of us. Walk MS helps us team up with friends, loved ones and co-workers to change the world for everyone affected by MS. Together, we become a powerful force. And with every step we take, every dollar we raise...we're that much closer. Together, we will end MS forever.

Family Field Day

Join Sioux Falls Parks & Recreation as we celebrate Kids to the Parks Day with a field day for the entire family.
This day is all about encouraging your kids to get outside to enjoy the parks in Sioux Falls. Activities will include three-legged races, volleyball, wheelbarrow races, buddy walkers, hula hooping, monster walkers, potato sack races, water balloon toss, and more! Don't miss out on this fun day to hang out with your family and have a great time.

Senior Bike Trail Tour

Location: Yankton Trail Park and Dunham Park (see description)
This experience is for those who are not able to explore our beautiful trail system on their own. Golf cart tours between Yankton Trail Park and Dunham Park will allow you to experience stunning views of the river, parks and wildlife. You must be able to transfer independently. Return trip is provided by Stellar Limousine, Inc. Light refreshments will be served.
Departure Times:
- Yankton Trail Park - 9 a.m.
- Dunham Park - 10 a.m.
- Yankton Trail Park - 11 a.m.
- Dunham Park - 12 Noon
Departure Locations:
- Yankton Trail Park - 3901 S. Minnesota Avenue, meet by the restroom.
- Dunham Park - 1301 S. Marion Road, meet by the picnic shelter.
