Location: Morningside Community Center, 2400 S. Bahnson Avenue

Temperatures are dropping outside, but things are heating up at Morningside Community Center with Netjfitness and this new group fitness class. BANDS is a 45 minute high intensity interval resistance band class for ages 14+.

Throughout the class a partnered instructor will focus on bringing the heart rate up to an aerobic rate while strengthening and toning all muscle groups. The benefits of having resistance band routines - while this is a high intense workout, the movements are easily modifiable for you to go at your own pace. So get excited! Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat. Registration required. $12 PER CLASS OR $80 PER SERIES

Saturdays, December 12 - February 6, from 8-9 a.m. *NO CLASS DEC 26th

Location: Spencer Park

Join the fun and competition of this frosty morning run. Races will be 5,000 and 10,000 meters. Runners will follow the path along the Big Sioux River. Turn around points will be noted along the route. Runners that are registered before December 17 will receive a T-shirt.

Runner check in and day of registration will be available starting at 8 a.m. Cost is $5 per person. Register online at register.siouxfallsparks.org.

Location: Tomar Park

Partnering with Falls Area Singletrack (FAST) and Falls Area Bicyclists (FAB).Bring your bike out and meet at the Tomar Park parking lot. We will ride to Falls Park weather permitting. FAST and FAB will provide a frosty frozen treat at the end of the ride. Free. No registration required.

Location: Mary Jo Wegner Arboretum

We are partnering with the Outdoor Campus to offer a snowshoeing activity that will teach you the fundamental of the sport and allow you to spend time outdoors in the winter at the beautiful Mary Jo Wegner Arboretum. The number of snowshoes available is limited to please sign up early for these limited space tours. Group walks will leave every hour starting at 1 PM with the last group departing at 4 PM. Registration is highly recommended at register.siouxfallsparks.org. All ages, free.

Location: Scheels IcePlex

Come ice skate and socialize with your friends at our teen cosmic skate. Ages 14–19.

This event will be held at the Scheels IcePlex and will be a fun-filled night of ice skating, grooving to a DJ, and playing games on the ice. Registration and payment will take place on the night of the event at the Scheels IcePlex. $5 entry/skate rental. Music provided.

Location: Great Bear Recreation Park

Helmets available for $10 to rent. Space is limited and tickets are available only online at greatbearpark.com/tickets-rentals.
