Oats & Fruit Smoothie

Ingredients
  • 1/2 Cup Rolled Oats
  • 2 Cups Frozen Blueberries
  • 1 Container (4-5 ounces) Yogurt (low-fat or Greek; vanilla or other flavor - just check the label to avoid added sugar)
  • 1 Banana (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2 Cup Low-Fat Milk (skim milk or non-dairy alternative) OR Coconut Water
  • Optional: 2 Tablespoons Honey

Note: Using frozen fruit gives you a cold smoothie without diluting it with ice. If you have fruit that is overripe, don't throw it out. Cut it up and put it into bags to freeze for future use! To work in some healthy veggies, you can also toss in a handful of kale or spinach.

Serves: 2 (approx. 12 ounces each)

To start, pour the oats into the blender, put the lid on and process for about 30 seconds to break the oats down into a powder. Next, add the remaining ingredients and purée until blended. Serve immediately.
