Tot Time is designed for toddlers and other little tikes, six years and younger, who may not be comofrtable with the interactive play features. during tot Time, the interactive play features will not be operational. Participants will need to have an active swim pass or pay daily admission rates. Ages 2-5.

This warm water fitness class is sure to keep you on your toes! We will engage your entire body using the water and equipment for resistance. This is YOUR workout, so it can be light – high intensity depending on what you are looking for. The instructor is here to push you and guide you, but know that YOU are ultimately in control of your moves. We will use noodles, fans, gloves, and other equipment to keep the class fun and engaging. Registration required.

Starting in 1944 and still going strong! This free drop-in program designed for 7-12 year olds is a wonderful place to be a kid. We are a "low-tech, high fun," weather-dependent program. We will be closed Monday, July 4. Monday - Friday.

Beat the heat by joining us inside for some fun! Burn some energy in our large gyms over a game of basketball or other open play. Enjoy our game rooms filled with board games, toys, pool table, air hockey, foosball, and more. Surf the web on our public computers. All ages are welcome; individuals 6 years and younger must be supervised by someone 16 years or older. No registration required. We will be closed July 4th. FREE

A Matter of Balance

Location: MIDCO Aquatic Center

This award-winning class, presented by the Stand Strong Falls Prevention program, is designed to manage falls and increase activity levels. This program emphasizes practical strategies to manage falls. During the 8-session series, you will learn to:

  • Set goals for increasing activity
  • Reduce fall risks at home
  • Exercise to increase strength and balance
  • Safely get up if you fall

Who should attend?

  • Anyone interested in improving balance, flexibility and strength
  • Anyone who has fallen in the past
  • Anyone who has restricted activities because of falling concerns

Birding Walk

Birds are a piece of nature that are always around us. Through every season, in your backyard, at the lake, or even in the city, birds are all around you. If you have always wanted to learn more about the birds that you see every day, join us on our walk and you can learn how to spot and identify these flying creatures. Adaptive Aquatics

Adaptive Aquatics

Location: Laurel Oak Family Aquatic Center, 49th St. and Laurel Oak Dr.

Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation and Sanford Wellness Center are happy to announce an adaptive aquatics program for children with special needs. The goal of this program is to provide students with a structured aquatic experience designed to make them feel comfortable and safe while swimming. Carole Wolf, a SD-certified teacher with a master's degree in adaptive aquatics, will be conducting the classes. Classes will be a one-to-one student to instructor ratio for a 30-minute lesson. First come, first served.
