Kids Nite in the Park

Location: McKennan Park is located at East 26th Street and South Second Avenue.
Come and experience the beauty of McKennan Park while your kids have some fun also. Who would want to miss the fun of these events? Your family can enjoy a park full of old-time carnival games, inflatables, and summer fun. Bring your kids or "kid-like spirit". Kids' Night in the Park is free.
Activities include:
6-8 p.m. Youth art show and sale
6-8 p.m. Kids' carnival booths of skill and challenge throughout the park
7 p.m. Featured entertainment: Storyland Children's Theatre

Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL)
Thursday, June 27, 2024 9:00am - 10:00am
Location: MIDCO Aquatic Center
Age 65+
SAIL is a 12-week strength, balance, and fitness program designed for adults 65+. Participants improve balance and mobility, reduce their risk of falls, and improve their quality of life while having fun meeting new people. Experienced and skillfull instructors teach each class. Classes are tailored to older adults who are active and wish to maintain or increase their fitness level. Chairs will be available as needed. It is recommended to attend two classes per week. Please bring a bottle of water along to class. Registration Required.

Summer Senior Recreation Trail Tours

Location: Pasley Park
This experience is for those who are not able to explore our beautiful bike trail system on their own. Round-trip golf cart tours will allow you to experience stunning views of the river, parks, and wildlife. Participants must be able to transfer onto and of of the golf carts independently. Preregister online for these limited space tours at siouxfalls.org/parks using class ID #416000. Snacks and water provided!

Walk a path lined by the pages of a story at McKennan Park. Watch Storyland theatre perform "Dance, Dino Dance" at 10 a.m.
9:30 a.m. - Walk the McKennan Park Path, which will be lined with the pages of a story, before and after the performance. Recieve a take and make activity and learn about the Siouxland Libraries Summer Reading Program.

Fitness in the Park

Family Fishing Saturdays

Did you know spending quality time with nature could reduce stress and enhance quality of life? Fishing is a great way to connect with nature and simply relax. Join us Saturdays in June and July to spend your morning fishing at Family Park. Fishing poles and bait will be supplied ona first-come first-served basis. No registration required.
