Aqua Zumba

Need a quick fix of exercise over your lunch break? Join us for Aqua Zumba at Drake Springs. Aqua Zumba is an aquatic-based, Latin-inspired dance fitness program that involves aerobic moves and dance elements from hip-hop, samba, salsa, mambo, martial arts, and more. This class is in partnership with Sanford Wellness Center. Registration not required. No class on July 4th.

Live Well Week: Outdoor University at The Outdoor Campus

Location: The Outdoor Campus at Sertoma Park, 4500 S. Oxbow Avenue
Live Well Week Feature Event: Outdoor University
Visit The Outdoor Campus to try all sorts of outdoor activities like canoeing, fishing, archery, shooting, outdoor cooking, and more. This year, you can also meet President Teddy Roosevelt! There are activities for smaller children and fun for adults! There will also be food trucks so you can stay all day! FREE! All ages welcome.
- Two outdoor shows will attend the event this year – Vern Boer’s Wild Dakota and The Bearded Redneck, Robert Rohrer.
- South Dakota State Parks offer activities for children age 7 and younger. Visitors who follow the trail of booths and activities will find free t-shirts to color and take home.
- Touch tanks filled with frogs, toads, fish and snakes are always a hit, and South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) officials will be on hand to answer questions about habitat, pollinators, hunting, law enforcement and wildlife.

Mindful Meditation

You will be taken through a series of guided meditations. These meditation sessions will also incorporate techniques such as: Sound (crystal and Tivetan singing bowls and other instruments), Thai-massage, Reiki, Mindfulness, Oils, Chakra-Balancing, Self-Compassion, and more. Each session will integrate a different technique.

Studies have shown that the average American youth spends as few as 30 minutes in unstructured outdoor play each day and more than 7 hours each day in front of an electronic screen. Come battle this statistic while participating in fun outdoor activities throughout various Sioux Falls parks. Fish at Family park, learn archery skills from The Outdoor Campus instructors at Great Bear, discover outdoor safety skills, and explore hiking trails during this exciting camp. Please wear sturdy, close-toed shoes and bring a full water bottle each day. Class location details will be released upon registration.
Intended for ages 7-11.

Live Well Week: Siouxland Libraries Book Walk

Location: Starts at the Bike Trail - North Weber Avenue entrance to the east side of Falls Park
Children and families are invited to take a walk and read the pages of children’s books along the Bike Trail between the Sioux Falls’ Downtown River Greenway Amphitheater and Falls Park. Presented by Siouxland Libraries, the Children’s Book Walk begins on the Bike Trail near the North Weber Avenue entrance to the east side of Falls Park. It ends at the Downtown River Greenway Amphitheater (west of Cherapa Place, between Sixth and Eighth Streets). Parking is available at Falls Park.
Those attending can also visit the Bookmobile and enjoy energetic performances by Rockin' Red from 9:30 to 10 a.m. and from 10:15 to 10:45 a.m.
Rockin’ Red’s website notes, “Her shows are packed with fun, since she isn't afraid to be silly and goofy!” Performances include original, upbeat songs geared toward children ages 1 to 12. Activities include an egg shaker-making station, face painting, and a sensory activity.
In case of inclement weather, the performer and book walk activities will be held at Siouxland Libraries Oak View Branch, 3700 East Third Street.

Wiffle Ball

Hit the ball and run the bases. Get your team together and join us for a fun day of wiffle ball. This one day tournament will be pool play with a single elimination tournament. Basic baseball/softball rules apply. No bunting allowed. First and Second Place teams will receive t-shirts.

Join us for a class learning how to stretch your food dollars, while also making healthier choices for you and your family. We will learn more about nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices; simple ways to increase physical activity; attend a grocery store tour and learn ways to save money when purchasing groceries; learn about tasty, simple ways to prepare a variety of fruits and vegetables; and learn basic skills regarding cooking and food safety. In a fun, welcoming group environment, meet others who are experiencing similar struggles and challenges and learn how you can overcome those barriers.
