First Aid, CPR, and AED

This class course trains in basic first aid, adult CPR, and AED skills to meet OSHA requirements. This is not the CPR-required course for healthcare providers such as EMTs, nursing, physicians, etc. American Safety and Health Institute two year certification and student manual included. Storytime Trail

Storytime Trail

Location: Arrowhead Park, 1710 S. River Bluff Rd

Children will explore the nature around them as they partake in a storytime with Siouxland Libraries, hike through Arrowhead Park, and complete a simple nature craft. Over the course of these two sessions, your child will further develop their powers of observation and creativity by exploring a natural environment.

Stay Strong: Functional Fitness

Location: Midco Aquatic Center, 1601 S Western Ave

This 60-minute Warm Water Pool class is designed to assist you in improving your strength and cardiovascular health. This light-to-moderate-intensity class format combines body-resistance and water exercise equipment with light-to-moderate aerobic exercise. During the 60-minutes of instruction, class participants will strengthen their major muscle groups as well as improve range of motion of all muscles and joints. Improvement of flexibility, balance, and stamina can be expected. The movements of the cardio activity are different fro every class in order for your body to receive optimal benefit for your physical health. 

There is a fee for Stay Strong of $45 for series.

Strider Bike Series

Location: Kenny Anderson Community Center 3701 East Third Street

Sioux Falls Parks & Recreation is pleased to partner with Special Olympics South Dakota for Young Athletes-Strider Program. This program gives kids ages 2-6 years old the opportunity to get the feel for riding a bike with the comfort of their feet on the ground. Bikes will be provided. Helmets are required; please bring your own. 

This is a FREE program, but registration is required. Registration closes five business days in advance.

Our Ladies' Bootcamp offers a variety of workouts that will keep you in top-top shape! It's always a fun challenge, whether you are new to exercise or just getting back into it, you can go at your own pace and work your way up. Basketball Skills Competition

The Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation Youth Triathlon, cosponsored by Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield, is for kids and teenagers between 6 and 18 years of age at Kuehn Park Pool and Kuehn Park beginning at 9a.m.

The early registration fee is $10, due by 5 p.m. on August 1. Participants who register by August 1 will receive a free race T-shirt. Registrations will be accepted on race day for a fee of $15. Wellmark has established a scholarship fund to help defray the cost for those who cannot afford the cost of the entry fee. Packet pickup and setup begins at 9 a.m.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each age division. Chip timing will be used for all groups, giving athletes split and overall times. Bring your swimsuit, towel, bike, helmet, and running shoes.

Vehicle Parking and Access
Use Kuehn Park Pool lot entrance to drop off participants and equipment. Kuehn Park Pool lot will be ADA parking only. Please use Sioux Falls First Church lot at 41st Street and Kuehn Park Road or use the Kuehn Community Center lot at 2801 South Valley View Road. No parking will be allowed in the Kuehn Golf Course parking lot.

Youth Triathlon Training Class

You can practice your swimming, biking, and running skills while getting tips on how to improve. The three-day, one-hour sessions run August 2-4 and cost $20 per person. Snowfox Swim Team, Avera Sports Institute Tri Group, and Two Wheeler Dealer will be on site to assist with training. Bring your swimsuit, towel, bike, helmet, and running shoes each day. Strider Bike Series

Location: Kenny Anderson Community Center 3701 East Third Street

Sioux Falls Parks & Recreation is pleased to partner with Special Olympics South Dakota for Young Athletes-Strider Program. This program gives kids ages 2-6 years old the opportunity to get the feel for riding a bike with the comfort of their feet on the ground. Bikes will be provided. Helmets are required; please bring your own. 

This is a FREE program, but registration is required. Registration closes five business days in advance.

Location: Cherry Rock Park

Our Ladies' Bootcamp offers a variety of workouts that will keep you in top-top shape! It's always a fun challenge, whether you are new to exercise or just getting back into it, you can go at your own pace and work your way up. Anyone can be a part of the program and all levels are welcome. Out boot camp workout will consist of cardiovascular conditioning, strength training, and stretching. Please bring your own towel/mat. Stay Strong: Functional Fitness

Stay Strong: Functional Fitness

Location: Midco Aquatic Center, 1601 S Western Ave

This 60-minute Warm Water Pool class is designed to assist you in improving your strength and cardiovascular health. This light-to-moderate-intensity class format combines body-resistance and water exercise equipment with light-to-moderate aerobic exercise. During the 60-minutes of instruction, class participants will strengthen their major muscle groups as well as improve range of motion of all muscles and joints. Improvement of flexibility, balance, and stamina can be expected. The movements of the cardio activity are different fro every class in order for your body to receive optimal benefit for your physical health. 

There is a fee for Stay Strong of $45 for series.
